This article is about how to make Super Easy Chinese Steamed Razor Clams in 3 minutes!
Razor clams may not be the ingredients that you are familiar with. I grew up only having them in a seafood restaurant. I have tried stir-fried and steamed, but the steamed version has still won my heart. Super Easy Chinese Steamed Razor Clams Recipe is by far one of my favourites!
I wanted to find them in Vancouver, and finally, I encountered them in one of the local grocery stores in my neighbourhood. I mean, they are not the most common seafood/shellfish, and we have to find ones that are live. They are very difficult to find or they are super expensive!
I absolutely love seafood, they are a good source of protein and they are low in fat. Do you like seafood?
I have shared my recipe for other seafood here, check them out if you also like steamed seafood!

Sautee the minced garlic until aromatic, evenly distribute the garlic paste on the clams, then sprinkle some chopped black beans on top. Steam it for 3 minutes over high heat.

How do you eat razor clams?
I have heard stir-fried, steamed, and sashimi (raw). I myself always like to cook shellfish, It is because I do not know how to handle them correctly. I would totally try raw sashimi clams if they have them in a Japanese restaurant.
Cooking razor clams is tricky because they can be very rubbery if you over-cook them. Make sure you only cook them in under 5 minutes over high heat.
Super Easy Chinese Steamed Razor Clams Recipe is my favourite way to eat razor clams, of course!
Is it healthy to eat Razor Clams?
Absolutely! Like all other seafood and shellfish, razor clams are high in protein and vitamins B12 and B1, as well as a good source of calcium, iron ore, and phosphorous. Also, they contain Omega-3!
Remember do not eat a large proportion though! A new study shows that they contain low levels of domoic acid which may cause memory problems. They suggest no more than 15 razor clams each month for 12 consecutive months.
I mean, I wish I could find them every month. So, over-consuming razor clams are not my concern, at all! LOL
Super Easy Chinese Steamed Razor Clams Recipe is one of the healthiest ways to consume razor clams. 🙂
