This is the best and easiest shrimp spring roll recipe that everyone can make at home!

Spring roll is one of the most popular dishes in Chinese restaurants. You can probably find them in any Chinese restaurant, to be honest. We always order spring rolls in dim sum restaurants.

Crispy skin outside, juicy and garlicky shrimp inside, so perfect as an appetizer, party snacks, or any occasion.

You may substitute the filling with vegetables and make it a vegan version. I like veggie spring rolls too, but I love shrimp spring rolls even more. Are you team veggie or team shrimp? LOL

Making spring rolls at home is very easy with simple ingredients, and also very economical. Shrimps are the most expensive ingredient here, but you can always get frozen and smaller shrimps.

What do you need to make this Shrimp Spring Roll recipe?

Shrimp – I like to buy freshly frozen shrimp and cut the shrimp into small pieces.
sesame” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>sesame oil – to enhance the flavour when the shrimp was marinated with sesame oil.
cornstarch” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>cornstarch – to enrich the texture.
garlic” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>garlic paste – to enhance the flavour but you can skip this if you don’t like garlic.
oil” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>vegetable oils for deep fry.
spring roll wrappers – I got mine at an Asian supermarket, they are usually in the frozen aisle.

How to make this Shrimp Spring Roll Recipe?

Cut the shrimps into smaller pieces.

Marinate the shrimp with garlic paste, sesame oil, and cornstarch for at least 30 minutes.

Layer 1 spring roll wrapper on a work surface with a point facing you (it should be like a diamond shape). Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the shrimp mixture in the center of the wrapper, and spread to make a 1-inch log.

Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the filling, rolling tightly to keep the spring rolls firm.

Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, it will look like an envelope. Apply water to the edge, then. roll up tightly, pressing to seal the edge. Put finished rolls, seam-side down, on a plate. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat a pot of vegetable oil, deep fry until golden brown, and set aside to drain excess oil.

  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 12 Spring roll wrappers
